Just watched the EFL highlights on ITV4, truly awful, with a frightful airhead ‘presenter’. I don’t know who the hell she is but she should never be given a microphone. Her apart, it was still the worst ever. ITV never could do sport, of any kind.

So did I. ITV have always been awful at sports. They usually broke down at a critical time and that bloke with the white hair ( I called him Snowy ) used to apologise and say we'll play you some music. Hugh Johns was the worst commentator ever, apart from the one occasion Billy Wright commentated on a match featuring West Germany, and he said, Gerty Muller passes to the blond (Gunther Netzer) on the wing.
They were also poor at comedy shows and drama's compared to the BBC classics, though they were better than most with their adverts.
Do you remember in the eighties when at the weekends they got Snowy to talk in Rap like a West Indian to promote what was on Friday nights? Bloody embarrassing.
I think they eventually employed a real West Indian to do the job.
