    Agree. And very true.

Superb performance - and Tony Mowbray's rather sour comments did pay tribute to our (LB's) organisation.

Amazed Offord was up for the corner to head it in, as he's usually our man on the halfway line to cut out any break - wonder who was there in his place.

Nice to see someone going around the back for a corner.
So....3 goals from set-pieces! (Plus 5 well-taken penalties). Somebody is doing an excellent job coaching them. Wonder when we'll score from open play? Hopefully a couple of times on Saturday🙂

Agreed, King Kenny is the set piece man.

Early days yet, but an encouraging start to the season. Forgetting the penalties for a moment, all our goals have come from defenders. That is not a criticism, more of an observation. In previous seasons we have been at our best when goals have come from all across the team so this is a promising start. My usual starting point for judgement is ten or so games in. Sunderland didn't field their first choice players last night but it must also be remembered that we had a very young and inexperienced side out so that is a very good result for the lads.

An excellent win and of course a bit of a surprise. I am really pleased and look forward to the next round, hopefully a home tie which of course I will be there cheering. Five pellys scored, you can`t beat that. Also a good display from our young goalie.

Would like to point out that it was also a night when something rare happened. All three local clubs won. If you include Wrexham as a new local team (which I do) then that makes 4 wins.

Have to say that I find our fair play poster, Timmy rather tiresome. If he is going to portray himself as the fair play club representative then fairness to ALL humanity should apply. Not subject to his petty little selective dislikes.

Last week we had a post suggesting that our players were not fit. Not apeep out of Timmy. A few weeks ago a post suggesting that our midfield were not competitive and this had been going on for ages. Once agin not a peep from Timmy.

at the top of Timmy`s dislikes are Mike, Wartman and myself which he seems to feel it is his self righteous obligation to repeatedly insult in what can only be described as childish bigotry. Mike due to poor health cannot attend. Wartman I presume has a season ticket. I have a season ticket and attend every home match. Can someone please explain why i Should purchase a season ticket each season if I am so obsessed with our team failing. Of course the 3 of us criticise the team when we believe we are not achieving the standards expected. What genuine supporter of any team does not. We all have the same aim, the best for our team..

I would sincerely be obliged if Timmy would desist from making these childish bigoted remarks. They really are not appreciated.

This post will possibly be a surprise to Jimmy. I would call his comment a bit sad.

What an extraordinary outburst! I am not aware that I insult anyone unlike some I could mention! Clearly if I have then I am really sorry.
I comment when I feel the need to respond to something. And believe me if I thought I had something to say in answer to the question marks over fitness or midfield "doing it's job". At the risk of sounding like someone else, I will continue to voice my views and will endeavour to refrain from insulting anyone!!

Not sure the name calling is necessary. I think T58s remarks were in response to my prompt. T58 was merely being up front about what I hinted at. That hint suggested that some people only post to be negative and don't seem to recognise the need to talk up the positives.
I was pleasantly surprised to see how positive your opening remarks were but then you went for the character assassination, which is a shame.
Anyway, I sincerely (on the evidence of the beginning of your post) believe you are capable of positivity. It'd be great to see more of it when due. Less of the name calling though, eh?

In the OS 'Gallery' there's a sequence of two photos of Nevitt waiting to take his penalty. In the first he's all concentration but in the second he's smiling - what's gone on??
