I went early as it was the first match with the new arrangements. I came in Arklay Street via Cleppington Road.

As I have said the blue badge provision in Sandeman Street and North Isla Street were both full at this point, about 13:30.

I made my way to Provost Road and was the fourth car in the disabled section, facing down the street towards Dens Road. At that time if was filling up quite fast.

The slope of Provost Road made it much more difficult for me to maneuver around my car and also use the hoist to get my electric wheelchair from the boot.

There are no dropped kerbs in this section of the street meaning once I had my chair out I had to go head long into the, really quite busy, traffic to make my way to the junction of Provost Road and Sandeman Street to get a dropped kerb and onto a path.

Taking my chair out of the car and then having to go against busy traffic was very scary. I regularly have falls and the thought of it happening on an open and busy road is quite terrifying.

All this to be parked quite a distance from where I actually wanted to go.

Previously I would park in North Isla Street with the only traffic on it being other blue badge holders parking their cars. Not having a dropped kerb wasn't an issue as it was safe to stay on the road (as it was closed).

Honestly, I've never felt so discriminated against in my life. The fact this is being done by the local authority makes it even more galling.

Of course I will report all this back but, honestly, I'm not holding my breath for a sensible or quick solution.
That's absolutely sickening mate. You need to get the club involved with this as well.

I'm disgusted reading this Terry. I hope you send that to the club.
How can we treat people like this?
I just hope the club can get a sensible solution after talks with the Council.

Hi. Thanks and yes they'll get it too, they have a dedicated email address about it set up.

100% both clubs are not too blame for this. I wouldn't even put any blame on the residents trying to improve their lot. It's simply down to the council and the terrible way they have implemented it.

As you can probably tell, I'm in no mood to let this lie.

This is disgraceful . Sorry to hear that yourself and others have had to face this.

The muppets responsible in the Council better sort this out.

The post from Terence makes me ashamed to be Dundonian and a member of the SNP.An absolute disgrace that someone in his position has to endure such difficulties and pay good money to watch a game of FN football in the 21st century.

Fecking disgraceful you have had to go through this. As ive said before, pm me and i will give you the email address of the person who listened to myself and others with protestations that led to the Permit Scheme being implemented.

I still maintain though that i think there is more to N Isla Street and Blue Badge parking than it being part of the Permit Scheme, and i will re-iterate that Dens Primary, the area behind the Shed and the corner at Gussie Park should be looked at to provide your parking. I think N Isla Street Blue Badge parking should be reinstated short term, and if there is a safety reason for restrictions, get another parking area sorted ASAP!

I will be emailing to get this looked at as well, and i implore others to do so as well.

Gussie is used by players & officials, so a definite no-go.

Well im probably gonna come over as a bit harsh here, but TTT needs stop moaning in here about it and get in touch with those who can start the ball rolling on getting a resolution to this issue. I have offered help with contact details for those that helped me, but im not going to put that in his thread.

Do what i have done and get the message to someone who can get something done!
