    Jets for Ukraine

Good news! Ukraine has a right to reclaim every inch of their land. Don’t blame all those countries closing their borders to Belarus either.

Any countries who are buying Russian energy via the back door should also be sanctioned ie India! Choose your side as opposed to having your cake and eating it!

I fear that the war in Ukraine will drag on unless something changes drastically. Putin will keep throwing men and weapons at it simply because Russia has enormous quantities of both (if not quality) regardless of losses because he will not want to be seen as failing in anyway as regards his "special military operation". Despite some protests from within Russia itself, he also seems to have continuing control of the country and so sadly it doesn't look like he is going anywhere anytime soon. The Ukrainians do not have either the numbers or calibre of equipment to push the Russians out or bring the war effectively to Russian soil. They will, however fight for their land and so have far more greater motivation.

Tbh, the only long term resolution I can see is that if there are areas in the eastern provinces that genuinely wish to be part of Russia again then these are allowed to do so and the borders re-drawn (and Ukraine then allowed to join NATO). Whilst Putin would certainly not like Ukraine becoming a NATO member, he may yet ultimately agree to such as he could spin it as a victory of sorts, but then Zelensky seems determined not to countenance such a surrender of land. Until some form of compromise is reached however Ukraine and it's population will continue to suffer.

The F16s are 4th gen. fighters so no match for latest jets but they should still be able to help support ground troops during Ukraine's counter-offensive and give them the much needed air cover/support they have been lacking. The problem is that I cannot see them making enough of a difference to break the stalemate.

"UK steps up imports from India's biggest refinery, which imports crude from Russia" Daily Telegraph - so we will be sanctioning ourselves??

And old jets in small numbers will do nothing but risk escalation

That’s why Putin is doing what he’s doing because of his rhetoric. Drive them from Ukraine and bring it on and for sure the nuclear talk will be a bluff!

Would we be happy if Russia took parts of the U.K.? I hope the Ukrainians drive them from their land. Close the borders and isolate them!
