True...but the origins of the ‘Trotters’ nickname is much more bizarre.

Why are they called the trotters? I know I could Google it but that's no fun

Think the Toughsheet takes the biscuit on stadium sponsors - local firm that makes...erm..tough sheets.

The financial journey was different for us insamuch that it was dragged out for years by an asset-stripping owner who flogged off the entire senior squad, the car park, the training ground and large chunks of the infrastructure which meant that when we were eventually sold, the new owners had to start from scratch. During that period we had to endure starting a League 1 season with no senior players and we had to put out our U18 team for the first two months - who despite getting battered every week had 10k + fans roaring them on and when they managed a 0 - 0 draw against Coventry it was like we'd won the cup. Administration, transfer embargo, bankrupt - ended up at the bottom of League 2 and an hour from doing a Bury when Sharon and Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason stepped in.
Still haven't got much dosh but we're slowly working our way back to financial stability but the main thing is that we still exist.
