Kitching gone …… it sends a signal

Barnsley Directors can say what they want.
The message has gone out loud and clear - no matter what the directors at Barnsley might say - if you want one of Barnsley players go and get them.

So whatever apology the directors come up with in the next few days - the sale of Kitching puts a ‘for sale’ sign over every players head at Barnsley.
    Including Luca Connell in January.

The club if the reports are true have just banked £8m this summer .

I would imagine that kind of money coming in has taken the pressure off the club's perilous financial position that was a consequence of two of their former partners in the boardroom .

With genius James Cryne now back in full control on recruitment he's presented the HC with some highly talented and very promising young players for absolutely nothing .

This is not the time to " give up " on the club and the model YN and you have to believe in them .

Exciting times are just around the corner .

    Nailed it Animal.

The squad is stronger than last season, as Ahmad promised after the Play Off Final.

We have built a transfer chest to spend in January.

We don't really want to read negativity from the likes of YN.

I'm reminded of the great Norman Tebbit at these times SB in the early 80's .

" If it's not hurting then it's not working " , YN would be well advised to reflect on those wise words from history .

He could also follow Tebbit's advise and " get on his bike " and ride to East Manchester if he's not happy with the club's circumstances .

There's no such thing as a free meal .

    Exciting times ahead .

The likes of YN and fellow moaners should be grateful we still have a team to support and are not scores of millions in debt

The club is reflective of what the country votes for SB every five years .

The Market is king and socialism is fine until you run out of someone else's money .

The strong survive , the weak go under , if you can't pay your pay you deserve to be poor .

There is no magic money tree for this player or that player or even the country's NHS and Public Services , if it doesn't make a profit it's a bad service .

That is until the reality of your support for the current ownership or indeed the country's political ideologies hits you square on the nose when you yourself go through hard times .

The safety net went in December 2017 with the country's many years before .

This is what the pack supported and indeed the country's electorate .

We don't want any commies like Corbyn , John Dennis or even a mixed economy under Patrick Cryne .

The Market is king and you'll have to suck up austerity in the bad times .

After all that's what the pack supported and the electorate vote for .

    Respect democracy .

    Exciting times ahead .

It’s nothing to do with losing the services of Kitching - or indeed the price paid for him.
The price could have been double what it was and the same issues would apply.

The club built a team good enough to get into the top 6 last season - and they have built a team this season good enough to get into the top 6 maybe top 2 this season.

But that’s not the point is is.

During this window the directors said no one would be sold.
But that didn’t happen did it - one of the better players - one of the players that the directors said would be worth much more in years to come - was relatively easily prised away.

This sends a message to people in football that Barnsley is a club where players can still be bought relatively cheaply compared to other clubs.

And IMPORTANTLY it reinforces the perception of what many Barnsley people (potential supporters) believe to be true about the club i.e. they are not worth supporting because as soon as someone waves a carrot they sell their best players - nothing gets built.

    So this transfer window.
    5 steps forward.
    5 steps backwards.

    No progress.

The owners aren't a charity YN and it's easy to spend someone else's money .

The club's financial issues that have blighted growth have been addressed , you need to ditch the mindset of today and that you want it now and show some patience .

If the club can't stand on its own two feet it deserves to be unsuccessful or even go out of business altogether .

There are no free meals in this world .

At the first sign of a bump in the road you lambast .

Take heart in the fact you have a club to support and the ownership have displayed a safe pair of financial hands .

    Exciting times ahead .
