These halfwit politicians do not seem to realise that installing 20 mph zones increases pollution in these areas as vehicle drivers have to drive their vehicle in a lower gear than they would in a normal 30 mph zone.

the 20mph limits are surely more about safety than pollution? You're good at research apparently so look up survival rates in car / pedestrian collisions at 20mph and 30mph.

Although it does seem a bit extreme reduced speed limits is one thing I agree with but only in certain areas.

It's a socialist/green war on freedoms and car drivers to make us all lead smaller lives.

    **** them all.

That halfwit Harvie thinks that everyone should get rid of their car and cycle everywhere like him including cycling the wrong way down a one way street.

It is correct that a person being hit by a car travelling at 20 mph have a better survival rate than being hit by a car travelling at 30 mph.
However these 20 mph zones should only be imposed in housing schemes.
If the politicians did their job properly they should be introducing a law which bans cars being parked within half a mile of schools between 8am to 9.30am and when the schools come out at the end of their school day. Primary and secondary schools finish their school day at different times.
Therefore cars should be banned from parking within half a mile of a school from one hour before the end of the school day until 30 minutes after end of the school day.
This would be similar to vehicles being banned on match days from parking in the zone around Dens Park and Tannadice.

I enclose details of a petition which has been set up to try to get these stupid 20 mph zones in Wales scrapped. https://petitions.senedd.wales/petitions/245548
Everyone needs to sign this petition which will also send a message to Useless and Patrick Harvie of the Greens who wants to implement 20 mph schemes throughout Scotland as part of his power sharing agreement with the SNP which was put in place when Nicola Sturgeon was First Minster.

disagree. All non school traffic should be banned from the area so that parents and their kids can get to school without intolerant pensioners getting in their way!

They already have zones around Dundee schools at certain times of day, the school "zone" that I walk past in the morning is being totally ignored by inconsiderate drivers parked on pavements and double yellows, also one day traffic police drove past and ignored three or four cars parked on the zig zag's.
