The bit that concerns me is the mining processes to provide all the minerals for a potential EV future. But if the recycling works well then that should reduce somewhat the amount needing dug out of the ground

That's because some of the members of this board choose to talk about environmental changes and media bias as well as the football.

There was a former poster who went on a #mission to stop them. He failed dismally, so either read it or ignore it.

Yep you’re right, there’s a lot that people want to conveniently forget or ignore, the minerals will run out but there are other options being developed like gel type batteries…. Just an aside, do people think that the money in tax that the Government will lose from the reduction in fossil fuel sales will just be forgot about?

It is indeed convenient because locking carbon from oil up in polymers means it never binds with oxygen in the atmosphere. At least, not until someone burns the plastic. Recycling's good for keeping it in polymer form for longer.

They are all biased, they play to a target audience and the objective is to get noticed not be impatial or balanced.

They all play to narratives of those that agree with them and aim to make those that disagree with them angry. If you agree with something you will pass the information onto others, same with if it makes you angry.
