No reward at Ibrox for Motherwell's good play

Motherwell lost to a first half goal at Ibrox but the visitors deserved at least a point. - External Link

We played well enough but unfortunately if you can’t score goals then you lose games. Our forward options are dreadful.

and yet we let the best goalscorer in the country leave -- I wouldn't be surprised if the total wage bill for all the forwards signed is costing more than had we let KVV's contract run through this season.

firparkUSA. I get the distinct impression that KVV left for money we had no chance of competing with. I think SK has done really well so far with the players we have at present and IMO once he gets his first choice forwards back fit our victories will out number our defeats

KvV clearly wanted to move on, that was obvious with some of his comments towards the end of last season “if the right offer comes in” etc. He was 32 years old and wanted one last big payday, we can’t blame him for that.

What I would say though is that for the wages we are paying to Bair, Wilkinson and Obika we could have possibly been able to put together a wage package that would have been able to tempt Steven Fletcher to come here. 36 years old or not I am 100% sure that he would contribute more goals than the three of them put together.
