    Gillingham

So a team who have only scored 9 (and conceded 9) but have won 6 against a team that have scored approx 3x that amount but have conceded almost double.
Based on our recent games can we afford to take the lead? Based on their defensive record can we afford to concede 1st?
I feel we have to go for it from the off. Get 2 goals and then we can be careful. Whatever, we have to into account their poor goals tally and make them chase the game and possibly loosen up in efforts to get back in the game. In no way though should we should up shop if in the lead. As ever, I believe we need to keep a winger on the pitch throughout the game so if Tracey tires/gets injured the Rowe should take his place. Based on recent performances, I would keep Rio wide right rather than switching him to left back unless he has an ineffectual game there.
As for the result ...2-1. Can't se us keeping a clean sheet but they will equalise before we score again. O'Riordan must be due a goal plus Nev.

Tough game this one - they are currently 4th.
Would be happy with a 1-0 win in this one.

Tabs to score with a Platt-esque late run into the box

Got Saturday right kind of, I said 2-2/3-3, I will go with 2-1 tonight and hopefully come up with another correct prediction.

    Great win tonight.
As Wartman stated on an earlier thread, the strength of the bench is much improved over last season.
LB made all 5 substitutions, without weakening the team, and was brave enough to make the last two tith 20;minutes still to play.

    3rd place - that'll do !!

Good all round team performance - difficult to choose one player above any other.
Hope Long is okay-- LB didn't mention the injury in his post match interview.
I can understand why Newport fans consider Demetriou a legend - he is an immense figure on the pitch and off it he always has time for selfies with the fans. He's a brilliant man.
Thought Nev did a great job when he came on. He did the work we needed in the last 15 mins against Wrexham.
Also the second goal was a thing of beauty. Rowe's movement from the centre to wide to receive the ball from Holicek also dragged a defender with him to create space in the middle for White to run in to. It all worked like a well-oiled machine.
I know we kept a clean sheet and Davies got behind a couple of shots but I'm afraid I still can't see that he's. any kind of upgrade on Booth.

Agree with you regarding Nev. It was Nev who received the ball with his 'back to goal' and laid the ball off for Holicek for the 2nd goal.

Thought Davies kept us in it after we had scored. He is still learning his trade. Hopefully the clean-sheet will give him some confidence anorl.

A difficult one this. Okay they have dragged through the tiers by the 'Class of 92' but have shuddered to a halt in League 2. Also they can only manage 3,000 on a VERY good day ( which is all the more annoying when their away allocation is pitifully small while there will be lots of empty seats in the home section).
So they have 'star' backing but they seem a much smaller club than we are.
Sorry off topic but just replying to another post.

Seems an extraordinary decision - clearly a decent (if allowed to be too physical) side on Tuesday night, whose only real weakness seems to be finishing, even in their winning start. Hardly see that as a reason to sack the manager, I suspect it won't take much fixing.
