Not happy with the result of ‘Take 1’, it seems that ‘Blimmin’ Heck wants to try again. After Blimmin’s ‘Tone Deaf’ Hospitality approach to the Holte End and surrounding facilities, he now seeks to take the ‘The Irish European Refferendum’ approach. Keep putting the vote out there until you get the desired result.

This box ticking ‘Survey’ clearly states in one question, that the desire of the board is to return to a shield design. Of course, all the other little add-ons have been dangled, like the Star, AVFC, 1874, Aston Villa (FC or not), and Prepared.

There is, a question at the end, to add descriptive alternatives, but do we really think that ‘Blimmin’ will read or take any notice of this, given his Tone Deaf track record?

This of course is not a life-or-death scenario in the grand scheme of things. For some it doesn’t matter what we wear, that’s fair enough. But to me, it’s just as part of the Villa, as the name, the colours, Villa Park, and the history. It’s an ingredient that once blended with the others, makes Aston Villa Football Club. ‘The whole is greater than the sum of its parts’ if you wish.

Couldn't agree more Exiled mate, there was a consultation process and democracy ensued, I liked both options last time but the round badge holds a special place in my heart as I grew up with it and it reflects our finest hour.

This is a circus, a joke, a muddying of the waters of our identity as a club - it could have been labelled as Purslow's vanity project and scrapped, it may now be known as Heck's instead. Personally I think it looks sound on the kits and training wear, but the previous one did too - connecting with fans on the pitch, completely pi$$ing them off everywhere else.
