I thought the MO now was to look at a players character as much as his ability?

Mr Ashworth must be getting some awkward looks now.

In a way, though, that kinda backs up Jammy's point. If we've looked at his background and found nowt, it could well be that he's hidden it well-as addicts can do.

Accidentally deleted my original post but we’ve been completely done here. Likely by Milan and, I am sad to say, Tonali himself.

This unexpected transfer makes a lot more sense now.

Italian football is corrupt as hell.

Wait a minute here, he must have known what was coming when he signed on the dotted line for Newcastle but chose to keep stum.

Yeah he knew alright. I doubt he’ll ever play for the club again. What a farce. Hopefully we smash the **** out of Milan at SJP!!

    Yep. His agent, too.

Wonder if we can sue his agent? He'll have had a massive cut of the fee-he must have known what was coming but still pursued the transfer.

I think he'll play for us again.

He's 23 and it'll be argued he made a mistake, the club will want to recoup sumit best way is he plays when able. He's also still a good player.

We have Trips who was banned for games for betting - not in the same way but still banned for better.

You have Toney banned for betting - you can bet he'll be playing again for Brentford in Jan.

Greenwood should be in prison for rape but is instead still a Man Utd player and playing in La Liga.

I will be gobsmaked if he doesn't play for us again.

I hope he does and he’s a great success, it just looks at the moment like he’s deceived us. I hope I am wrong.

Clubs see players as assets aslong as he's still a valuable asset to the club, I would put good money on them looking past that.

Players decive clubs all the time, this time, it's hurting us alot more but you can guarentee in the past we've had players decive the club over drugs, money, injuries etc.

Of course he's deceived us, why does it seem everybody walks on eggshells around him, he screwed Newcastle Utd. just as much as AC Milan.
