As I dragged my soaking wet body into a Wolverhampton Fish and Chip shop last nigh I was joined by a friendly group of Newcastle supporters. A conversation ensued, and the general consensus was that a draw was a fair result. They did concede that had Neto not gone of injured they were expecting to get beat.

I had a text at half time saying, it was never a penalty. Having watched it later, it was never a penalty. I can see why it was given in real time , but VAR once again failed us. Match of the Day conformed our view, however, for the third time this season VAR has had a negative response to our appeals, costing us five points. Those five points would put us touch of a European place. Not bad for the Manager who was described by some supporters, early in his tenure as a P E Teacher.

It was a decent game to watch and we more that matched Newcastle. They appeared to be terrified by our pace. The introduction of Doyle was a good move, and he carried on in the same impressive manner that saw him star at Bournemouth. Dawson, was Dawson, commanding at the back and organising players around him. What ever we paid West Ham for his services, it was well worth it. The much maligned Semedo had a great game and Cunha ran himself into the ground.

Neto will be a sad loss, I will be surprised if we see him again before February. Time for Bellegarde to step up.

Having played several high flyers, Sheffield United who are up next will be just the side we will struggle against.

Just when Plates is surging ahead out of sight, I"ve been without broadband for 4 days. Could neither make a prediction or (worse still) watch the game live...sometimes, life can be so bluddy cruel Nevermind, well done Plates and you too Wokes for going close.
