    injuries

    Isak
    Murphy
    Botman
    Barnes
    Anderson

    Tonali out, too.

Very tough few weeks ahead because of this. We need to see the bigger picture and stay with the team when results inevitably begin to suffer because there'll be a lot of noise around us like there was when we lost those 3 games in a row.

It's frustrating because we've seen what we're capable of but luck is definitely not on our side injury-wise.

aye it was always going to be inevitable i suppose.

At full strength, we have a very good starting 11 and bench but once we lose 2 or 3 key players, or in this case 5 players, we start to look thin on quality.

The intense pressure we play at will also hugely impact our performances, with a depleted squad, more injuries and fatigue is expected.

I remember reading an interview with Potchetino when he was at Spurs, he said because of the high tempo, high press system, players need to be moved on within 5 years because they become physically exhausted. That was him when Spurs had good depth in their ranks.

We play that type of system and have a smaller squad

We bought poorly in the summer, 70m on fullbacks (although good future signings) not getting into the 1st team. We’ve more or less the same side now that played last year. We finished 4th last year because Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs were in transition. We should have strengthened our first team.

If Wilson gets injured now we are on real trouble.

Let's see how bad it gets. We also had injuries last season, both Wilson and Trippier were out for long spells, and we still managed to get the points we needed.

January will be interesting, for sure.

Surely we’ll have to be ‘creative’ around FFP to make any signings in January.

Maybe loans, maybe with obligations to buy? If we’re looking to improve the first team, it’s going to cost money we might not be allowed to spend. But wouldn’t want to just bulk the squad for the sake of it - limiting our spending power in the future!
