    Swansea v Sunderland

    Swansea v Sunderland Sat 4 Nov 15:00
The Black Cats of Sunderland are the visitors this Saturday.
Head-Coach Tony Mowbray is in his second season there, guiding them to the play-offs last season and will be looking to go one better this time. Currently they are four points ahead of us in 8th spot and one point short of the play-offs. Last Saturday they beat Norwich 3-1 to end a three match losing run, watched by almost 40,000 fans at the Stadium of Light.
Swans meanwhile are 13th in the table on 18 points, five points off the play-offs, with a good away win at Blackburn that put us back on track after two home defeats in a tough 3 match week, Leicester expected, Watford definitely not.
A week between matches this week so plenty of recovery time. A good crowd expected with Sunderland fans out in force to sell out their allocation. A win could bump us up the table, here’s hoping.

    FT Swansea 0 - Sunderland 0
A hard earned draw with 10 men due to Patino being sent off after 30 minutes, dubious refereeing decisions earning him two yellow cards. The sending off spoilt the game as a contest and it was mostly one way traffic after that. Miraculously we held out through to the end in the 98th minute, heroic defending was rewarded with the draw and a clean sheet.
We could have even won it but Lowe missed the early penalty award, after their goalie Patterson guessed the right way and saved the shot.
Sunderland hit the bar twice as we were put under relentless pressure.
Cabango came on to shore up the defence and he made several timely blocks.
A special mention for our fans as they sang and shouted and urged the players on to the end, frustrating the Sunderland players who could not find a way past us. It felt like a win and the Jack Army went home happy.

Toughest point we’ll earn all season, what a game. Our goal led a charmed life at times, outstanding goalkeeping kept Sunderland out, brave defending and total commitment by our players, we should be proud of them today.
How poor a ref is Madley, ruined the game with the two harsh yellow cards and sending off.
Sunderland are a very good team, but there’s no need for the petty fouls and rolling on the floor when tackled.

Well boys, very entertaining for the neutrals but that was a nerve jangling match for Swans fans, it felt like a win for us at the end though.
All thanks to poor refereeing he almost ruined the match for us, but due to a backs to the wall fighting display from our players we salvaged a point.
