Despite my previous trepidation regarding this game against the league leaders I really enjoyed this game as Queens ran them close. The first 15-20 minutes I feared the worst but Queens played their way into the game with young Oscar McIntyre leading the response admirably.

That was much, much more like it from the entire team, - and totally agree, Oscar was my man of the match.

Still a little too much dithering in defence, - but our pacy front men scared Falkirk today.

It maybe wasn't the win I was demanding, - but even the grumpiest of Queens fans were happy with the performance at 5pm. One particular punter who is extremely hard to please said of the performance "not bad."

If we play like that from now on, - we will soon march up the table..................over to you Marvin!

    Much much better.
The negative passive game plan of the last 2 months needs to go in a locked box titled eye bleeding tactics that loses matches that nobody likes playing or watching.
I was worried about the line up but Ferguson stepped up as did young Oscar our man of the match. What an example to the rest of the squad from a wee 18 year old lad.
Falkirk have built a big strong side to dominate the opposition to win the league which they probably will.
Still a lot of passing back from positive positions on the pitch but like a lot of fans I went home a bit happier than of late.

Decent point but let’s not pretend we’ve turned a corner just yet. Another home game without a win , that only 1 win from 10 this season ( against Annan )
Our home crowds are now an embarrassment.
    Things must change asap

Totally agree. The manager talking about where we will finish come May based on one half decent performance is misguided. The effort on Saturday should be a given for every game and until that is achieved we will continue to be at the bottom end of the table and the crowds will dwindle even further.

Queens are more than capable of competing at the top end of the league, - and they have proved their quality against Motherwell, Partick, Arbroath and Falkirk (twice now) already this season.

They just need to completely cut out this fatal attraction of playing the ball out from the back every time. Marvin FFS, - are you deliberately wanting to be sacked? Just vary it from the back and catch out the opposition by quick kicks to McKechnie and Walker, - who are like speeding bullets.

Anyway, - we've tried to suggest this to Marvin since mid July, - it sometimes takes a long time for a tanker to turn around. We have the speed and we have the ability in 'spades' - we just need to take advantage of our qualities rather than deliberately risk losing a goal by actively encouraging the opposition to have a go at us. How many times does it need to be mentioned? Even on Saturday, - we farted about in front of our own goal, and could easily have gone 2-0 down. Given that Marvin actually watches the entire game again every week, - you'd have thought the penny might have dropped by now.

How on Earth can’t young Gibbo get a start in that team. The most exciting prospect we’ve had in years and apparently him and the gaffer don’t get on.
Get that chip off your shoulder Bartley.

Jardi, we may well be capable of competing at the top end of the league if the proper application and effort is given, unfortunately in the league this is sadly missing. Consistently inconsistent I would call it. There is absolutely no excuse for only playing well on the odd occasion. This is a poor league and any sort of winning run would put us easily in a play off spot. We are over a quarter of the way through the season and you don't need many fingers to count the number of times we have actually performed to our capabilities.

That is precisely my point Beautiful South and that of many others, hence the reason for drip feeding the same suggestions for the last 4 months! A 'good' manager would have listened to every snippet of information sent his way and would have avoided many of the avoidable goals against and defeats that Queens have suffered. Quite clearly, they are more than capable of going on a run and claiming 3rd spot without much difficulty, but they must play to their strengths and stop trying to be Man City in defence. Good God, if Marvin has heard that once, he's heard it at least 1000 times.
Imagine what Marvin ' s report card must have said: "Marvin needs to listen to the advice of his teachers and stop making the same mistakes over and over again. He could achieve a lot at school, if only he stopped being stubborn. A very promising pupil, but must try harder "
It's not the players who are to blame, the punters who pay to come along every week can see they can play football, it's the tactics that they have been forced to follow that are at fault.
Saturday was like a breath of fresh air at last, with McIntyre tackling anything that moved and showing great movement as a wing back. Connelly's sublime flick to open up the Falkirk defence was amazing, and if the Match of the Day cameras had been there, they would have shown it over and over again.
Without a doubt, Beautiful South, we have the technical ability to play at a far higher level, we just need the manager to accept that his tactics in the first quarter were not suitable for the First Division.
Let's hope his report card at the end of the season reads: "Marvin has learned a lot and adapted well to the First Division after a poor start. He demonstrates the qualities required to be a great manager, but he cannot rest on his laurels. His future depends on listening to all the advice he can from every quarter, assimilating it and then acting on what he thinks is best for his club in the circumstances the club finds itself in."
