My missus said that she must have misheard, I said that, even if she had misheard, she was still wrong so she must be thick lol

I think this was the girl who said she was a research scientist, or something like that Sub, whatever, if you ever want evidence that they shouldn't have done away with Grammar Schools, watch the younger generations on the Chase. My especial favourites are those that get £3k, are offered £1k, but insist on going for the £3k and then get knocked out. The chasers tell them time and again, take the lower offer and get back, it's not worth the extra risk for £2k, but no, two or three a week go for it and get knocked out, they crack me up.

sinkov, we like watching The Chase, however, the standard of general knowledge never ceases to amaze us.
It makes us wonder just what they have done whilst growing up. My missus just went to a Secondary School and left without any qualifications at all but you watch her answer questions on The Chase, Mastermind and even University Challenge and you will know why I always have to be on top of my game!
WE also agree about the offers on The Chase and how greed takes over rather than common ssnse.

it's the same on Pointless, uni students and even grads, on average seem clueless on general knowledge and don't seem embarrassed that they are making fools of themselves. All this has brought to mind a classic on mastermind.

    Magnus: "Either."
    Contestant: "Pass."

The whole gamut of TV quiz shows are thoroughly pointless in my opinion because I reckon 80% of our population are as thick as mince.

The whole object of the various quiz shows is to make someone look cringeworthy thick.

Not too difficult here in the UK because most of the eejits thought voting Tory would level things up.

If you were on Mastermind mon ami, I assume your Specialist Subject would be Tripe. You post a lot of it. Like Mr And Mrs Sub, Mr and Mrs S enjoy The Chase, Brad is the perfect quiz show host, the best in the business by some distance, the chasers are varied and entertaining, especially Shaun, 'just another day at the office' Wallace, the 'Dark Destroyer' and some of the younger generations have us falling about laughing as they are living proof that we should never have done away with Grammar Schools.

Record it so that you can run through the adverts, and it's the perfect tea time entertainment.
