It we sold him now it is also basically telling the rest of the team that we've given up on promotion this season. That would be very damaging and also demoralising for the new coaching regime.

Jamie Jellis, the young Tamworth midfielder that we were linked with, has signed for Walsall.

That’s a shame, he seems like he would have been a great Notts signing.

Will do well at Walsall under Sadler who is developing into another very good young manager. They’ve probably left it a little too late but serious play off contenders next season, possibly this season if they continue the way they are.

There’s not a lot wrong with it in some ways, if a club went directly to the club the player can probably work out roughly what they will pay anyway and agents certainly will.
So you think 'tapping up ' is ok then?

Think Rangers paid nearly £1 mill for him from Man Utd when he was coming through.
    Lad has lots of potential

It just happens, the issue nowadays is the agents and the bad ones where they’re more interested in trying to get players a move to fill their pockets. We were talking to Langstaff months before he signed, I assume we had permission but a club will try and get a player by any means if they really want them.

It’s not ok but you would have to be very naive if you think it doesn’t happen.

That's how I feel about it.

One of those things where one does it so others do it and it becomes acceptable.
