The Directors Box has waterproof covers to keep the seats clean and dry. Therefore it should not be too difficult for Nelms to purchase waterproof covers for both goalmouths if he is not prepared to spend meaningful funds to get the drainage of the Dens Park pitch sorted once and for all.
Relaying the pitch each close season is in my opinion just papering over the cracks and not resolving the drainage problem.
You will possibly remember that the first league game of this season against Motherwell was just about cancelled due to a couple of heavy rain showers two hours before the 3pm kickoff which caused puddles to form at the Bob Shankly end of the pitch.
Scottish referees are employed by the SFA who in turn are ultimately financed by the Scottish Football Clubs with their referees being well paid considering they are employed by the SFA on a part time basis.
Ian Maxwell is the Chief Executive of the SFA and he should be explaining to both the Dundee and Aberdeen supporters why his employee David Munro did not stick to the laid down rules for trying to ensure that all SPFL games are played on the day to avoid postponements.
Why put covers down if game is in no doubt 🤔

Answers on a postcard to James T Kirk Dens Park Dundee.

Or hand deliver, usually found hanging aboot outside club shop.

Covers are put down as a precaution at a lot of grounds certainly at the Dump as well as our ground. I've often seen interviews well before kick offs and midweek between games at grounds all over the country where the most vulnerable areas, usually the goalmouths, are covered. Nothing sinister there.

    Vulnerable to what?

    An asteroid.

Game was in no danger was the bull spouted.

The latest Dee4life website states that they have purchased covers for the seats in the South Enclosure. https://dee4life.com/2023/12/07/dee4...date-november/
From memory it was stated at the Dee4life AGM that Dee4life had paid just over £800 for the cost of the covers.
I have also had it on good authority that these covers have been used to protect the goalmouths.
At the time I expressed surprise at this as it would be difficult to dry out these covers at this time of year to cover the seats in the South Enclosure if they have been lying on damp goalmouths on the Dens Park pitch.
