Pains me to do this but Islay's right - you wrote 'offered' not 'advised'.
Having said that I believe you're correct that the council pointed the club toward the site as a preference. I'm also highly sceptical on this whole stadium thing and also hope it happens at some point - still can't see it happening in my lifetime though.
Oops forgot 290
My mistake, didn't think council owned the land but didn't phrase it properly.
As I said I'm as sceptical as most but if it is a way of moving the club forward I'm all for it.
To have the best stadium and facilities in the city would be huge for the club.
Rros has in the past highlighted neglect at dens and rightly so,this new stadium would elevate the club.
My preference tho wud be a dens upgrade but get ho.
Just want a well run, forward thinking club for once.
We live in hope lol
I heard about four years ago that after the joint venture between Dark Blue Property Holdings Limited (DBPHL) and Dundee City Council to build the huge Regional Sports Centre was scrapped, Dundee City Council officials advised the directors of DBPHL that an area of ground at the former NCR Camperdown playing fields was being advertised for sale.
In my opinion this was Dundee City Council?s ?get out of jail card? as these council officials assumed that DBPHL were going to apply for planning permission to build a sports centre with training pitches on the site not a new stadium, crematorium, shops, hotel and private housing on the 29.7 acres site.

I am surprised that there has been no comments on this topic about the DBPHL Directors borrowing funds from the Isle of Man based financial company Soho Green on 24th November 2022 secured over the 29.7 acres Campy Nou site. https://find-and-update.company-info...507045/charges
According to the Soho Green website these loans are usually one to three years in length.
You will also see that the DBPHL who are the holding company for Sandeman Properties Limited borrowed money from Soho Green secured over the Dens Park Stadium on 3rd October 2023 which was the same day as John Nelms announced that Dens Park was back under the control Dundee Football Club.
The application form applying for the loan from Soho Green secured over the Dens Park Stadium is worth a read.
