    Swansea v WBA

    Swansea v West Brom, Monday 1 Jan 2024 15:00
Looking back at the season so far. After 25 games played of 46 we have 29 points, 10 points away from a play-off spot and 8 points away from a relegation place.
A month ago we fired our manager because of poor results and with no replacement lined up, first team coach Alan Sheehan stepped up to take temporary charge. In his six matches in the hot seat we’ve won two, drawn two and lost two, one of the defeats a 5-0 hammering at Southampton.
Today is New Years Day, a new start, a new manager perhaps and a tough home match against an in form West Brom.
Fresh from their home win a few days ago against one of the promotion favourites Leeds, they will be a tough nut to crack. Conceding just 8 goals in their last 10 games compared to the Swans 21 goals conceded in the last 10 and you can see where our problems lie.
With Key out injured we’ve brought in Academy product Sam Parker at right wing-back and it’s good to see him getting a first team chance.
There’s been a sickness bug affecting the squad in the last week, hopefully it’s cleared up and we are able to field a strong line-up.
With our poor home record a draw would be a good result.

    Swansea City 1 (Cullen 55’) - West Brom 0
Second consecutive home win for interim manager Alan Sheehan in his seventh game in charge. It was a hard fought win in the rain, Cullen scoring the winner after a lob from Grimes was headed down by Darling for Cullen to fire home.

Great second half, a deserved victory and a huge win against a top six side.
Players are really getting behind Alan Sheehan and giving 100%.
Should he be given the job until the end of the season?

    Iolo enjoyo!
Best win of the season boys and in the pouring rain, got drenched getting back to the car but I didn’t care.
Massive 3 points. Nervous last few minutes, Baggies threw everything at us, but we held out for the win.
Credit to the players and Alan Sheehan.
