Saddo Cup 🏆Are We Bothered ?

At the end of the day each game should be played like it is your last & you should always strive to win.
Isn't that what we were told as a child, cos i certainly was.

As this innocence was lost, so too was the glory of the Cup for somebut not for those L1 Posh fans or indeed us in 2010, 2011 & 2012.

Sadly, our recent Cup record tells a story of our "todays" at a glance. 😖

Hating other teams has always been as much a part of "football fandom" as vigorously supporting your own team. These days my personal "hierarchy of revulsion" is determined by how morally bankrupt a club’s owners are rather than the more traditional factors such as local rivalries.

But hey-ho we can all dream but sadly for most nowadays it'll be only a dream of finishing as runners up which is a far cry fom the banner on the wall of my Dads study stating "You get nowt for finishing second" !

    Coach;
Darren Ferguson is in his 4th stint at the L1 club, playing a 4-2-3-1.

"Jones Bags Last-Gasp Winner for Posh v Rams" 3-2, report.
    https://www.theposh.com/news/jones-b...r-against-rams

Their present 15,314 stadium has been in situ since 1890's & since 1934 Peterboroughs nickname has been The Posh.
In 2002 Beckham's wife filed a counter-claim with the UK Patent Office over the club's application to register their nickname of "Posh" (for use on their merchandise). The former Spice Girl aka "Posh Spice", claimed the nickname 'Posh' had become synonymous with 'her' on a worldwide basis. She was unsuccessful in her suit. 👍

Our Ticket allocation 3,955. Their stadia is a 'cashless-environ' too!
    £27 Adults
    £22 Seniors 65+
    £18 Under 24 (18-23)
    £9 Under 18 (0-17)
Ambulant tickets are available with 14 wheelchair spaces.
So a 2hr, 117 miles trip from ER.

Peterborough is best known for its historic cathedral which is considered one of the finest Norman buildings in the UK.
It was established as a monastery in AD 656 & is famous for being the resting place of Catherine of Aragon (Henry VII's first wife) & Mary, Queen of Scots.

Its population grew rapidly after the railways along with its industry & town became famous for brick manufacture which had arrived in the 19th century.

Owing to its inland position (furthest from the landfall of most Atlantic depressions) Peterborough in Cambridgeshire is one of the driest counties in the UK.
Much of Cambridgeshire is low-lying in some places below present-day mean sea level (2.75 metres (9.0 feet) below sea level).
Before they were drained, local Fens were liable to periodic flooding .

Today its home to companies in Logistics, 3D printing, Food manufacturing, Robotics, Composites & Polymers, Digital/IT services, Agriculture crop growing & a vast away of Warehouse stores for leading global corporates alongside its near motorway.

Peterborough local authority area now has a population of 216,349.
Peterborough has seen the fastest population growth rate of any UK city at 17.5% in last 10 years & has a cosmopolitan population speaking 140 languages!

More interested in promotion but think it is dangerous to allow players to ever think there are unimportant competitive games.

Would be happy to see Klaessen, Cresswell, Hjelde and Joffy get minutes though and to show what they can do. Maybe with Bambi playing up top.

I'd love us to take it seriously and have a run in it. Wins breed confidence breeds Wins.
Sadly though I believe we will fall at the first fence.

Watched Peterborough against Derby and they played some good stuff. Very organised and decent strikers.

I'd really like Farke to push the team to go far in the tourney this go around.

As HOP said I'd like to see cresswell, Heldje, Klaeson and Joffy get big minutes while resting Ampadu, Gray and Summerville. it's asking a lot of us to win without those key players regardless who we are playing.

I think that Cresswell, Joffy and Gnonto may not play given their pending transfer status.

Just remind people how we would feel if someone like Summerville, rutter, rodon etc got injured and out for many weeks in a cup we will never ever win, with teams like arsenal, Liverpool etc even playing their second string we haven’t got a prayer, sad but true.

True Norfolk but hate the idea of any team being willing to lose and giving up. It’s sends a subliminal message that isn’t always helpful.
