    The silence before the storm.

One of the biggest games in Barnsley FC (Women's Section) history and football in general in South Yorkshire.

The mighty Wallsend come to Tarn in 3rd place behind leaders Barnsley. A win would take Wallsend above Jess Horsley's heroines and they have two games in hand. Wallsend's record so far is W9 D2 L1 compared to Barnsley's W10 D1 L3.

Who will emerge victors ? Or maybe they cannot be separated.

Kick Off 2-00 pm on the Oakwell Training Pitch. You are advised to get there early. Free Entry.

Go Well Jess's Women of Grove Street.

An interesting line from the account of the game on the Official Website--

...."the Wallsend defence handled the obscene Barnsley pressure"

Must make a mental note to get down there to see them "live".

Cambridge Dictionary definition--Obscene-- "anything strongly repulsive to the sense of decency and propriety, especially in se xual matters".
What on earth was going on in those final minutes ?

After a blip of back to back league defeats the Women of Grove Street are in League Cup action at Hull on Sunday.

The Official Website has the game as a "Semi-Final" but there seems to be more than two League Cup fixtures on Sunday so further research may be required. Perhaps there is more than one League Cup competition.

Whatever the status of the game Go Well Jess's Women.

Still a little vague as to what stage this competition is at. The original Official Website promotion of this game said it was a "Semi-Final" but after a 6-0 victory at whipping girls Hull United the quote is now--

"We can now look forward to getting into the Quarter Finals" which reads as if it is next the Round of 16 to play to get into the last 8.

Anyway Well Done the Women of Grove Street.

No game for Jess Horsley's Women of Grove Street yesterday but they did slip to third in the table due to other results.

Only one team promoted to the fourth tier from their present fifth tier league of 12 clubs, the North East Region Premiership.

Another big one this coming Sunday---South Shields-v-Barnsley FC with the Geordies looking to jump above the Reds with a home win.

Jon Flatman new CEO, is keen on the development of women's football and should provide a big impetus in the fight to get that one promotion spot.

Go Jess, Go Flatters, Go the Women of Grove Street !

    Barnsley Feminines-v-Sunderland West End.

Another big game in the top six of the league. It's an odd league in the sense there is a big divide between the top sis and the much weaker bottom six. The seventh placed club in the 12 club league only have 19 pts, ten less than the sixth placed club. By a fixture freak and due to postponements the vast majority of Barnsley games have been against the bottom six and now have mainly top six clubs to play--and ideal chance to go on to win the one promotion place.

Go Well the Barnsley Feminines of Rue de Grove.
