It was interesting watching the highlights of the Barrow game and seeing the Barrow goalie berating his defence after our first goal. However, before Nev put the ball in the net the ball had travelled across the keeper within 2 yards of him and he was still on his feet as the ball travelled into the net.
This seems to be a feature of goalkeeping nowadays. I don't believe the idea that the goal area is purely the keepers domain as tactics have changed and opposition players are now instructed to block the area to prevent the keepers from having easy access to the ball. However, I don't see why they can observe a ball coming so close to them and not try and claim it. Jaaskelainen used to be case in point on this.
