Darko Churlinov’s loan from FC Burnley to Schalke 04 is still to be made official, but the move is already being commented on by the Bundesliga club.
The Dattelner Morgenpost today features some quotes from sports director Marc Wilmots, who confirms that the player is about to be signed.
Has he ever played a full game for us?
It's a player stockmarket, buy low sell high, they're just commodities.
He started 1 League game, 1 FA Cup game and 1 League Cup game ---he never completed the 90 minutes in any of these.
In all he played 394 minutes in 13 appearances and never scored a goal, was never cuationed or dismissed.
He is still only 23 years old so who knows what the future may hold for him.
Watched him play for Macedonia and score last year.By all accounts a great player but like a lot of prospects he does not fit in with VK.
Survived a very scary ordeal with blood poisoning last year also.Good look to the lad.
He looked quite useful on the couple of occasions I saw him, he missed a sitter late on in one of those games, but was never really given a chance to prove himself. He really is one who makes you ask, why on earth did we sign him in the first place ?
Schalke 04 look happy to have him back...

Potential would explain the acquisition. VK has said many times that his focus is developing that potential to help the player realise it.
Not all acquisitions work out though. That is the reality in all walks of life. I am sure that many on here will be able to name high profile, big money signings that have not worked out. Manure and Chelskie spring to mind.
I previously worked with a F1 Champion who told me that in the world of motor racing only 1 in 10 drivers make it to the hot seat. It doesn’t mean that they are bad drivers - simply that is very, very tough at the top.
VK has echoed the same - not all acquisitions make it. Burnley FC is no exception.
If we can make a profit on selling him, that is a positive, surely.
