    Congratulations to Maidstone

Ipswich 38 shots to Maidstone 2. Maidstone win 2-1 and into last 16. Not bad for a Tier 6 team

Funny how selective we all become when it suits us. Well done indeed to Maidstone - it’s a brilliant achievement - but had VAR been operating it would have finished 2-1 to Ipswich as Maidstone’s second goal would have been disallowed and Ipswich would have had a penalty at the end rather than the booking of an ex Ram for simulation.

Lol...indeed it wasn’t...but which do we prefer. The correct outcome (usually and eventually) or the instant and, in this case, romantic one? The penalty/booking of Edmonson was an appalling decision imo.

Appalling decisions have always been part of the game; VAR also has been responsible for some appalling decisions.

Can't live with it. Can't live without it.

Being selective the actual (romantic) result. For sheer bloody mindedness in defence and because Ipswich were so bad in front of goal they deserve the win and a big 'un in the next round. Great stuff, **** Man City et al I just love it!

Haven't seen it but makes a change for the smaller club to get the decision though. In fairness all clubs get decisions go their way and go against them. Ipswich got away with one against us when they wrecked thornes career and the ref didn't even blink never mind send the player off which he should have done.

Talking of bad decisions yesterday's penalty for Pompey was appalling, not only very soft but a foul on a vale player in the build up.

Plus how do we know var would have changed the outcome, loads of awful decisions even with var.

You are right though we are selective. Look at them lot down the road, have written twice to complain about decisions this season but mention Huddersfield to them and they wont even acknowledge they got away with it.

'We' ie I, prefer a world without VAR. There will come a time when there will BE no football at elite level, just VAR. Says someone who loves what Hawkeye has added to cricket. But there you go
