I’m a member of a Notts group on Facebook and a fan recently passed away, Jan 31st from cancer after a short battle. Made me think of ‘1959 and his family. Not sure if it is him or not but RIP to whoever it is X

No, that’s not his name….don’t want to give his name out, but he looks like maybe 50’s or 60’s in age.

Countygump used to say he'd seen this or that on faceache as he called it. his mate Kev on here did say he was ok when I asked the question about him a few weeks ago. Could well be 59 as well, as his posts have been few & far between recently

It was on December 29th, following our 5-0 defeat of Morecambe, that Magpies1959 told us he had liver cancer.

It was a sublime performance from Notts today with so many players interchanging their positions seamlessly. It was a very emotional game for me, on the day it was confirmed I have liver cancer, at best. COYP

And on January 26th, he told us his age and confirmed he was in Hayward House, the specialist palliative care unit in the grounds of the City Hospital.

The 59 refers to my birthday year …... It is indeed the Hayward House at the City Hospital, a star in the NHS armoury indeed.

Magpies1959’s last post on Notts Mad was 16 days ago, on January 29th.

We have not had a score prediction from him for the last three games, and I sadly fear the worst. If that is the case, I’d like to pass on my condolences to his family and friends. If Magpies1959 is still hanging in there, keep fighting, pal. Regardless of our individual views, we are all part of the Notts family, and I like to think we come together in times of trouble.

I propose to freeze Magpies1959’s score of 95.50 YAPS in the Correct Scores Competition, his score after his last prediction.
