Magpies1959’s last post on Notts Mad was 16 days ago, on January 29th.

We have not had a score prediction from him for the last three games, and I sadly fear the worst. If that is the case, I’d like to pass on my condolences to his family and friends. If Magpies1959 is still hanging in there, keep fighting, pal. Regardless of our individual views, we are all part of the Notts family, and I like to think we come together in times of trouble.

I propose to freeze Magpies1959’s score of 95.50 YAPS in the Correct Scores Competition, his score after his last prediction.
In my experience of visiting Hayward House, people don't tend to spend a lot of time there, so I suspect you are right. Bless him. Thoughts go out to him and his family. How sad.

I think that's a good idea, to keep him high up the list for the remainder of the season.

Fair chance he's not able to post due to being high as a kite but is still able to read it. However, unless he's expressed a wish to a relative to notify this forum of his condition, we're not entitled to know and I'm not sure it would be right to continually bump this thread, he might very much appreciate the concern and interest but then again if he has passed away then we'd need to let him rest in peace.
It's a tricky one, but certainly a big loss to the forum, he posted regularly and provided a balance to those with equally partisan views, be that about Notts or otherwise.

    God bless 59.

I think I know who 1959 was. He was my old history teacher from Hucknall National, Colin Samson. I’ve just seen that he passed away on 30th January 2024.

    RIP whoever.
The two tally. RIP Magpies1959/Colin (if so) - very sad news.

When i was at school (I'm 57 now)_, we had two teachers who were ardent Notts County fans - well who admitted to it. They used to go to the games together. Colin Sansom and Neville Ordoyno. I saw them both at games in the early 1980s.

Colin was a Labour Party activist in and around the Arnold area, as well as a bloody good history teacher. Me and him used to clash, politically, but he was a teacher I got on with really well.

Edit: I've just checked the internet and he passed away at the QMC aged 70. So it's not the same Colin. It says make contributions to the Pancreatic Cancer Society, so definitely not the same Colin.

Always sad to see a member of the Magpie family leave us. Thoughts are with his family and friends.
