Looking on the bright side, we are are playing one of the best teams in L2 and playing pretty well away from home (apart from actually scoring) so perhaps our form is getting better!

Mansfield look more of a ‘jelled’ unit, to be honest I think they are what we want to be, we look ok going forward, but still a ticking time bomb at the back, where as Mansfield look like they have every area of the pitch covered. Baldwin again gave it away for a near 1 and 1 in the first half, Stone gave another stupid pass away again that could have ended in disaster. I know there’s some on here who think the brothers can do no wrong but the recruitment in certain areas and at crucial times has been atrocious. The keeper situation and defending positions have been staring us all in the face when we were in the National League and should have been addressed last season. Striker wise (apart from the obvious), it seems we only sign the dross that’s left, the kings Lynn lad and then sign a striker when he’s injured and always injured. That aside, stopping up this season was always my aim and if we do it then I’m happy. But this recruitment situation needs sorting as soon as the season ends as it’s gone down hill drastically.

If there's no further goals then this would be only the 3rd fixture Notts have been involved in this season (league and cup) with no more than one goal scored.

Bit of a surprise we're clinging on to 7th despite losing but we're now only 4 pts above 13th as it stands. We could sink very low soon if form doesn't improve.
