Unfortunately sport does become political, but if Russia is ostracized from sport for its war against Ukraine, then why should Isreal be any different for its war on Palastinians. Both theses countries have been critised by the United Nations.

Is it any wonder the civilized world is aghast?

I was led to believe that Israel were attacked by the Palestinian terrorist group that is called Hamas, and now they are defending themselves against Palestinian murders and rapist.
Totally different than the Russian invasion of Ukraine

By "defending themselves" do you mean razing Gaza to the ground and butchering 29000 women and kids b_c?

The majority would seem to think that they are defending themselves or do majorities not count any more?

"As of November 2023, 163 UN member states have recognized Israel, while 138 have recognized Palestine. Most of the countries that do not currently recognize Israel are Muslim-majority "

    Quelle surprise!

Yes Ballcock, Israel was attacked by Hamas, but it has been reported that three Israeli soldiers on the Gaza boarder reported a buildup of potential terrorists to their superiors some time before the attacks took place but their supperiors took no action to prevent the attacks.

It was also reported that the Egyptian intellience service advised Mosad, the Israeli intelligence service of the possibility of attacks taking place and yet again they took no action.

This does not appear to be defending ones country.

I believe that the Hamas terrorists behaved like savages and did commit murder and rape, however the Israeli respose in their invasion of Gaza does not cover themselves in any glory.

In the Russian invasion of Ukraine were not some of the Russian soldiers accussed of murder and rape leading to the affair being referred to the Hague tribuneral.

Not really a surprise mein freund. The "majority" you refer to all have shared histories of colonial enterprises or the subjugation of indigenous people whilst nicking their lands and stealing their assets. Big Boys rule OK.

Interesting to note that Ireland recognise Israel, however, they do not recognise Palestine but yet it is they who were the reason that this thread started.
    Sport and politics ---any excuse!
