I thought that VAR was introduced because of all the howling errors and incompetent decisions by referees. Now it appears that these incompetent referees are depending on VAR to get hide their incompetence.
At the recent 50th Anniversary dinner celebrating us winning the League Cup the MC stated a list of things that happened in December 1973 including prices of food, drinks and petrol compared to now. He ended this saying that in December 1973 there was no phucking VAR which received loud cheers.

    Unless it was violent conduct.
As long as the ball is in play it counts.

The fermer Magowan (sp) got booked last week for this scenario.
