Richardson must insist on the chairman, to deliver what he promised, when he said we would have a state of the art training ground. We have the complete opposite at present and this needs to be attended to NOW.not "in the forseeable future".

Can't see money being spent on new training facilities, after QPR spending 12m on
improving facilities at the clubs new training ground, last year.

Rotherham United don't have that amount of money, & looking at QPR's financial
    accounts for 2023, they couldn't.

[Doing a seperate thread on QPR financial accounts 2022-23 season.]

We cannot continue with a training ground unfit for purpose. No wonder that lot down the road call us toytown. This major problem must be rectified. It's economic madness not to get this done and it should never have been shelved for so long in the first place. The longer we abandon this project the worse it will get.

Just a bit more about The Seattle Sounders training facility I'd linked to early in this thread. Seen as a statement of purpose but at a cost of $68M. At 50 they are half our age but this seems a familiar story:-

During their first 50 years, they've trained everywhere from World War II-era stadiums to random parks throughout the region. There have been periods where they didn't even have a permanent training site, effectively competing for space alongside amateur clubs. This is obviously something very different, something likely far more permanent than even Starfire. The slogan around Longacres is that this will be their home for the next 50 years.

Wheres money coming from, QPR spent £12m on improving their NEW training ground.
What will a new build cost the Millers.

Obviously prices in London are a lot different to those in Rotherham but clearly TS has no intention of providing the state of the art facilities he talked about given that he bought the land 13 years ago.
I think a lot of people find it strange that a significant amount of money has been ploughed into "improving" inadequate facilities owned by someone else.

Could be that Rotherham United cover the upkeep of Roundwood, paying the bills etc for work needed, then free rental.

"Build it and they will come"
    Isn't that the saying Cam?

Why can't the American Dream come to Rotherham?

    But,
68m is a fare hit for a state of the art Training complex.
And of course, Seattle Sounders Geographical location compared to ours.

Being pedantic, just because it once caught me out in a quiz, it's actually "If you build it, HE will come"

I agree $68M is a fair chunk of change for a training facility and yes as I posted somewhere, their nearest rivals are 160 miles to the North (Vancouver) and 190 miles to the South (Portland) so the catchment is huge and includes not only Seattle but 3 other largish cities within 30 miles.

The key is you just don't make it a training facility for RUF but have parts of it available for the rest of the community, retail and dining experiences and throw in good transportation to boot (a bit like NYS should be).

American dream can't come to rufc because Tony Stewart won't let it.
