Just one thought, if we owned the ground, what we have been paying in rent, over the last five or six years, could have funded a new training complex.

The rent is paying off the loan taken out to build the stadium, isn’t it??

So the club is paying someone else’s mortgage? Is that correct?

Yes. £1M per year in the Championship. This type of arrangement is common. Sheff Weds pay £2.5M for the Pigsty, so we could be worse off.

TS has always been open with this. He said that if The Millers had an average attendance of 6000 then they’d be enough to pay the mortgage.
The mortgage payment is £1m per year as that’s what it cost from the bank.
He said that if we got an average of 8000 then it would be enough to trigger the construction of an extension to the ground.

I’m not 100% sure but I don’t think RURC could take out a loan with favourable interest rates because of the previous debt and administrations.

It needed someone to guarantee the money and that is what RUFC Holdings or whatever it’s called was set up for.

This is what puts the fear into some people because there’s been nothing in writing to say that if RUFC is sold it would be sold alongside the stadium.

The deal that TS walked away from i was told DID include the two elements in the sale. Meaning that it would be likely that the next owner has the opportunity to continue with the same model and be able to divide the two at a later date. Obviously it’s all speculation as no deal was done and no new offers are under consideration as we know at the moment.

We've had average attendances over 8,000 for a decade (excluding a once-a-century event, which wouldn't come into serious consideration when planning long term finances). We remain at mid 8,000s to low 9,000s in the third tier. How long does it take to pull this trigger?

If I’m not mistaken I thought TS said 8,000 season ticket holders not 8,000 attendances.
