    Montrose this weekend

What size of crowd can we expect this weekend when we face Montrose at Palmy.

The team playing rubbish , a late 5.30pm kick off , the game being live on TV , the Scotland v England rugby at 4.45pm and the Solway Sharks at home with a 7pm face off.

And just to note , the Solway Sharks had crowds of 1,000 on Saturday and 800 on Sunday last weekend. Fantastic for them but worrying for Queens that the locals are now more interested in the ice hockey due to several factors at Palmerston.

Thanks for pointing that out Scooby Blue, - I certainly can't make Saturday at that time.

What an utterly crazy decision to put it on TV against the rugby.

What compensation can the club ask for? None probably.

The footballing authorities and those in charge of TV certainly couldn't care less about individual football clubs, - and they've also ruined a potential big pay day against Falkirk on the 16th of March. Falkirk would have brought at least 800 fans for a 3pm kick off.

I think these points need to be raised.

Footballing authorities couldn’t care less about other factors that might have an adverse affect on attendances.

    Absolutely clueless

Well its high time they should! The game is dying out for the smaller clubs, and a team like Queen of the South cannot afford to lose at least 500 paying customers from Falkirk on the whimsical decision to move the kick off to 5.30pm. That's a loss of up to £9000.00, - plus all the ancillary expenditure in half time 50/50 tickets, - programmes, pies chips etc.

How many businesses could just take a £10k loss on the chin? Absolutely none. Oh, - and what about the hospitality? That's gone too, - that's at least another £3 to £5K

The fixtures come out in July, - TV companies should pick their games at that point, - so that all clubs are given a definitive plan for the season.

TV can still decide to change their schedules, - but a compensation package needs to be in place for clubs.

Ffs never seen anything more pathetic why the feck would anyone want to pay 18 quid to watch that bunch of idiots not one player anywhere near the standard I'd want for that league ,you can't just blame the manager for that shower the board need to discus walking away another 200k plus loss ,some on here say these people were keeping Queens afloat obviously not as it's a minimum requirement from a board to absorb these debt out there own pockets

    Helpful as usual Francis.

One word though to describe that performance is 'woeful'.

Jardi woeful is to good a word , just the man can you explain where the funds our board are pumping in that youv said on ump**** occasions that are keeping Queens afloat season upon season cause seriously 200k losses each season suggest they haven't put in one penny ,the buck stops with the top guys that supply the managers ammunition surely .

Could someone translate this into something intelligible?

As one of the daft few who were there tonight all I can say is that the first half was reasonable with some high tempo play but as ever we carry little threat for a home team. Second half we were disappointing allowing Montrose too much of the ball and then conceding two silly penalties before rallying too late in the game. Very little between the sides but as ever we end up on the losing side which for a full time team in this division is unacceptable. Changes are required as the current management team seem very much lacking in the spirit and ideas to change things around to make a playoff challenge.

we produced a few good moves when we played the ball on the ground but they were few and far between, other than that we were dreadful. We much preferred to hit long hopeful balls which didn't work and haven't worked all season. Clearly we should have been down to 10 men and facing a penalty in the first half but for the incompetence of the officials. We won't make the play-offs with or without Bartley at the helm.
