Have the EFL Bent the Rules for Derby County to Sign Player Dwight Gayle

Have the EFL bent the rules in allowing Derby County to sign free agent striker Dwight Gayle.

Derby County's transfers & spending have been monitored by the EFL, since the club came
out of administration in the summer 2022.

Derby County have signed free agent striker Dwight Gayle [34yr] on a end-of-season-deal,
after getting approval from the EFL to complete the deal.
This comes after Derby County striker James Collins has been ruled out for months, with a
    knee injury.

Dwight Gayle has a decent scoring rate, 124 goals in 350 games.

Ok Gayle is a free agent, but have Derby County already registered their allowed squad for
the rest of the season, before the signing of the player.

It’s exactly the same as what we did with Ayala when Andre Green was ruled out for the season.
