    Every player and manager describing the team as "a great bunch of lads". I'm sure sometimes they have to say that through gritted teeth...

    Also players and managers pretending that they don't look at the league table.

    These days a lot of players and managers pre-empt the cliche by saying “I know it’s a cliche but…we’re taking it one game at a time..etc etc

    Apart from on comentry where else do you hear the word "aplomb" being used. HMHB.
    Players that" put in a shift," and get hooked after 70 minutes, hospital workers put a shift in - footballers play a game.
