I was at my Best Man’s and oldest friend’s funeral today.

A wonderfully attended event for a very good man, the sort of service I hope takes place at my own.

No hymns, no prayers, just some very fine words spoken to mark the life of a top bloke.

I can’t think of a better way to depart, if you’re
not religious like him ( and me ) then no need for sanctimonious prayers and archaic hymns.

Be true to yourself and take your chances that you’re not appealing to a “higher power” to allow you entry to a Heaven……a few good words, a couple of good old songs that you liked and off you go.

Fair play old mate, you played a blinder throughout your life as 300 people would attest to today and you did the same as the final curtain was drawn.
