    O/T Council Tax Bill

Just received ours today. Obviously we knew of certain increases but here's mine.

    Rotherham M.B.C - increase of 1.5%
Adult Social Care which I thought would have been the biggest + 2%
    Brinsworth + 2.9%
    S.Yorks fire & Rescue + 3%
    S.Yorks Police + a whopping 5%.

You don't object to an increase of sorts but 5% on a service that is reducing year on year. When was the last time you saw a beat bobby or even a patrol car in the area where you live?

    Never been a fair system

If you have a bigger house you pay more, so does that mean you have first call on the items the council provides?

If my username isn't clear enough, a beat bobby would be accused of going for an afternoon walk if he passed by my door. I've seen cars often enough, but no idea if they're on patrol or moving from one task to another.

Good to see RMBC not going for the maximum allowed.

Isn’t some of that sum for the police and firefighters put towards the retired ones?

If true why exactly? Surely they've got a pension to draw.

Get a water meter in Caytonmiller.
Have it done for nowt, see how your bill is for 12 months, you decide then if
you want to accept using this, if you don't, you return back to normal payment,
& water board just leave the meter in.
I saved a lot of money with the water meter.
