There was no apology in the announcement on the Club website that Sunday’s game against Rangers had been cancelled. .
You would have thought that Nelmsy as Managing Director of Dundee Football Club would have apologised to the Rangers and Dundee supporters for the game being cancelled.
Instead there was nothing as Nelmsy retreated into his Gardyne bunker.
Islay, have you read the newspaper reports about this recent incident? It seems to me that we need to do something to improve the drainage at Dens. I just think that self interest will be a factor and John Nelms will deal with this. He gets good outcomes from press comment when it is something that he wants to share, in that the coverage is extensive. I hope he might see the drainage for the pitch at Dens as something that he has to do, so why not make a virtue out of a necessity.

Depends on you idea of what difficult is I suppose.

You seem to be finding it difficult to name a single United player that would get into Dundee's first team - maybe that's a decent measure of what is and isn't difficult for you?

Hardly retreating into his Gardyne bunker as you claim. The comms from the club on Sunday were good and fans were kept informed throughout.

When other clubs have games postponed does their MD apologise to the fans? I would suggest not, it is usually done through a club announcement which Dundee FC did on various platforms.
His hatred of Nelmsy knows no bounds.

John Nelms had no option but to speak to SKY Sports, BBC and other outlets as they were present in Dens Park during and after the pitch inspection.
There was a photograph on the Scottish Sun website showing the Rangers players watching the referee Don Robertson inspecting the pitch last Sunday.
You are possibly not aware that BBC Scotland The Nine were planning to do a piece about the new stadium development at the Camperdown Retail Park at the beginning of November 2022. Questions had been submitted by BBC Scotland The Nine to the management of Dundee Football Club and the Secretary of Dee4life had been interviewed for the programme.
It never happened which in my opinion was disappointing as John Nelms on behalf of Dark Blue Property Holdings Limited who own the site could have explained his plans for the site.

He crossed a Red Line for me and I will never forget or forgive him for that.

The SPFL bosses are only interested in this latest cancellation due to the Dens Park pitch being waterlogged because we were due to play Glasgow Rangers.
If we had been due to play St Johnstone the SPFL bosses would not have been interested.
In my opinion the drainage problems with the Dens Park pitch should have been sorted two summers ago instead of relaying the pitch.
One thing is obvious. It was not the fault of the Two Brian’s that the Dens Park pitch has become waterlogged every time there is a spell of rain the evening before a home game. According to the Scottish Sun after the Two Brian’s were suspended a firm based near Glasgow has been contracted to look after the Dens Park pitch along with help from Burnley Football Club.

You've made a statement that it's obvious the two Brians are not at fault for he waterlogged pitch. Fine - ultimately I agree with you - however, as Groundsmen, they were responsible for it. I think we all need to be privy to the additional information you've obviously uncovered.

Who, in your deeply researched opinion, is responsible for the condition of the pitch. If not the two people paid to maintain it then who? Did the two Brians document any concerns surrounding the pitch in emails, letters, recorded phone calls or in any other way? Surely as the people responsible for the pitch they will have done this and intimated their concerns to their employer on more than one occasion?

I assume The Scottish Sun, or your own intensive research, has revealed both why they were suspended, and ultimately relieved of their duties, and the content of the many notes of concern submitted by them to the club.

One last thing, were they sacked or did they resign?

So he didn’t retreat into his bunker as you stated? And your last 2 paragraphs, are absolute waffle.

    My take on this.

Nelmsy has cut pitch maintenance to the bone.

Auld groundsman team fall out with him as they give him it straight.

Comes back to bite us on arse against wrong team who snap their fingers and spl and their press lap dogs jump into action.

There's no middle ground with Nelmsy and Fenton ( think David Owen David steel spitting image puppets) they get some things right but other things they just completely **** up.

If comical Ali had gave press conferences saying this pitch is playable their is no mud, I see no sand.......it wud have.been more believable.

Of course he had options. He could have as you wrongly stated retreated into his Gardyne bunker,he never. he could have sent Greg Fenton out to speak to the TV media and press he never. He could have refused requests for interviews, he never. He had plenty options.

To say he had no options is incorrect. Still waiting on you explaning how you think JN in your words retreated to his Gardyne bunker, when that was not clearly not the case.
