Thread: Raith

Excellent performance today, Watt setting standards was a surprise but a thoroughly enjoyable one. Honourable mentions to Sibbald, Graham and McClelland. Only gripe with the day was bringing on Grieve, get him tae feck and go with the young guns.

There was quite a gulf between the teams today. After 3 minutes Raith had one more effort in the whole game. Someone earlier in this thread predicted they would beat us 3-0 even though they have beaten no one by that margin this season and we haven't lost by that margin. We are the best team in the league and thankfully today we showed it. 5 cup finals to go.

It's crucial in these last 6 games we get out the habit of losing (mostly gifting) the first goal

That was a big win even a draw would have left Raith in the driving seat. It certainly is not over though with three tough away games to come. Every team we have to play has a chance of that final play off spot and I can’t see that changing over the next few weeks. Partick Thistle ,last game, will for them probably have no bearing on league position. Raith’s next 3 games are all at home, Ayr, Airdrie and Thistle while our next two are away to Queens Park and Morton. It is far from over though those three points today are very welcome.

There is a good chance the final game against Thistle will be dead rubber for them and wanting to rest players for the playoff. Best case scenario it will also be a dead rubber for us. All 4 other games I expect every team will have something to play for.

..one game at a time! Queens are in decent form and we have to take care of our own business. Hopefully the players geared up for on final push.....we need to hit form right now!

    Raith win.
So glad you were wrong. Do you have anything positive to add after a great day for our club?

Special credit must go to Graham and, particularly, McClelland. Thought they were solid throughout.

So pleased with that result. They played for each other today with grit and determination. No passengers at all and what a difference that makes. Even right towards the end boys chasing everything down. Like someone said earlier seeing the look on Tony’s puss when sending their player for a hotdog was priceless. Honestly thought he was going to get smacked for taking the p!ss so much. Loved it.
