I'll go for a squeaky, hard earned, teeth biting last minute 6th ( by a whisker) Good few of the important lads will be back for the last matches too.

Below is the league as it stands.

As we are all aware, this funny old game of ours is all about momentum. Despite putting in some pretty shocking performances in part, we done what good teams do. Grind out results. Had Dummett not channeled his best Hulk Hogan against that perma-Whiney Rat Young we'd have 9 points from the last 3 and be in 6th place, ahead of his former beloved ManUre on Goal difference.

We've got an entire first 11 of players unavailable. Not squad players, first team players. Aside from the top 3. Villa, Spurs, ManUre, West Ham none of these clubs would be in the mix for Europe if they had similar injuries.

Injuries aren't an excuse, they are a fact.

Had Pope played all season, he alone is worth 6-9 points. Joelinton & Tonali easily worth another 6-9points & Harvey Barnes has proven his match winning credentials, worth another 6.

It's all hyperbole of course, however, +2 from 'The Ultimate Dummett', we'll say 6 from each of the above = +20pts. That's 67 points. 7 points clear of Spurs in 3rd.

Howe and the team have done amazing work. Not to mention the highlights of dismantling PSG and other notable memories created this season.

The sports science and player recovery needs to be looked at for sure but there is no blame on the coaching staff or the training regime.

Next season, with some decent additions, Tonali and Joelinton in the team with Bruno is gonna be sweeeet!

It's all hyperbole of course, however, +2 from 'The Ultimate Dummett', we'll say, conservatively, 6points rather than 9 from each of the above = +20pts. That's 67 points. Which would put us 7 points clear of Spurs in 4th 3points, 1 win off City in 3rd & 4points off Arsenal & Liverpool challenging for the title!

How mental is that. You can understand why the rest fear us can't you? 2nd season of Howe, half a squad of players who were with us in the dark days of the Cabbage patch & Championship and we're almost a title contender.

To say the 'Sleeping Giant is waking up' would be absolutely accurate. We've just swung our legs off the bed and headed down for morning coffee. I can't wait to see where we are after we've had a full English and hit the ground for real.

I think we'll sneak 7th and get a European spot again.

I also think it's important we get European spot, even if its not CL again. . . just yet.

It boosts our points and is good to sell the club to signings.
