Perhaps one day (even next week) they'll (Cheshire Police) even close South Street as well (on the assumption that they'll close Gresty Road to Alex fans on 'big' games) rather than just feed approximately 3-4,000 pedestrians directly into oncoming traffic!

Er...this is at the end of the game and refers to traffic not pedestrians!

As it turned out, once again, the road closure was only for the "safe egress" of Grimsby fans. Crewe fans were once again herded directly into oncoming traffic.
