Let's say that Wigan had the largest budget in the league that season (which is certainly no guarantee of success). However if they did, would it be fair to say that the expectation of the club would be promotion? I don't think it would be an unreasonable expectation of the manager.

So given that Wigan went up as champions, did the manager deliver on those expectations? I'll take a simple yes or no answer ��

If Wigan fans accept that its ok to win promotion by having an unfair advantage compared to the other clubs, praying that they won’t get caught, but if they do then their promotion and champions won’t be taken off them then a resounding yes.

I can’t see us spending very much in the summer, especially on transfer fees and also on wages. It will be a season of mitigate financial risks, if victor goes it will be staged payments and most of the money will be used to cover the cost of the training ground and nys pitch work. TS is preparing his exit and as such it will be slash costs wherever possible.

Yes I know Wigan overspent but does that mean LR receives no credit for winning the league? He still had to pick 11 players to go out and win football matches.

Aside from that, do you know what Wigan's budget was in comparison to some of the other clubs I mentioned? Was it significantly more or was it comparable?

It's ironic that you mention stuck record because after what I've just read, you've asked "what has he done to inspire confidence" at least 4 times in this thread.

Just because there have been no positives on the field of play, it doesn't invalidate the view that some people think he ought to be given a chance next season, with his "own" players. That's it. There's nothing more to it. You're not going to disprove anything with this daft question you keep wittering on about.

And YOU are not coming up with anything that (in your view) shows LR is inspiring confidence.

These figures are taken from the Salary Sport website so won't be 100% accurate but will give you a fair indication. The first figure is the annual wage bill. The second figure is weekly bill. The third figure is average attendance, followed by final league position.

Wigan paid out £4 million less in wages than Sheffield Wednesday. £3 million less than Ipswich Town and not even twice what we were paying out in our promotion season. They had a budget comparable to Sunderland and Charlton.

So when you say that Wigan had much higher budget, were you talking complete *******s?
