Leeds United v Blackburn Rovers

Saturday 13th April@12:30 | Elland Road

Leeds must get back to winning ways on Saturday lunchtime for the War of the Roses clash with Blackburn Rovers.

With five points from a possible twelve, Leeds are at risk of losing second spot, which they only preserve by way of goal difference; but both the Ipswich Town and Leicester City have a game in hand over the Whites, which could be crucial during the business end of the season.

John Eustace's team are no slouches. They fired five past Sunderland at the Stadium of Light earlier this month, and kept Southampton quiet last weekend. Sammie Szmodics is the divisions leading goal scorer, having already netted 29 times in all competitions this season.

Despite this, they find themselves three points and four places from the drop zone with 46 points. They have conceded twice as many league goals as Leeds thus far (66 v 33) and are in danger of slipping further in the mire unless then can stop Leeds from scoring.

The two sides let met in early December at Ewood Park. Goals from Dan James and Crysencio Summerville were enough to give the Whites a comfortable victory over their Lancashire rivals that day.

Goals have been hard to come by in recent times for Farke's men; prompting criticism for the Leeds gaffer for his team selections. Patrick Bamford finds himself back in firing line, after some inept recent performances, but as of yet, Farke refuses to replace him.

Giving Messrs Piroe and Joseph eight minutes against Sunderland to make an impact tells its own story, and exactly where he see's the pecking order. Reading between the lines, and with no new injury concerns, we can expect an unchanged team for Saturday. Pascal Struijk and Stuart Dallas continue to be ruled out!
