    Interesting end of season

Crewe, fall off, injuries yes, but total lack confidence. Mackey D, captaincy, resulted lack of form, Charlie K, where and how does he play, in midfield no, winger possibly. Nevitt, amazing work rate and goals...., he may be poached?
Playoffs, one and gone, but we would of taken this at start season.... next year will be more difficult, interesting to see how management retain first team squad. Luke Offord, hopefully back and fit?
The loanees, really affect the team balance, those who depart January, leaves holes, however this year most left injured ( whats happening in training, fit is fit, but too many injuries appears to be overworked?) January additions are usually folk not making it at home clubs.
Hopefully Wrexham do not have a field day next week, big crowd and worldwide publicity!

Still have hope that the occasion plus maybe one or two returnees will make a difference next Saturday. Wrexham are going for the title so no let up from them plus, of course, they'll have 2,500 fans cheering them on. Clearly the season can't end soon enough for some of the Alex players but by default we'll probably have 2 extra games to contend with.
As for next season, it is a worry. I can't see Offord signing yet another contract. Nevitt will be picked up. Long surely can't be trusted for another contract. Maybe the same applies for Thomas. We will need a good second keeper as Booth has done enough to establish himself. 2 more defenders, 2 more midfielders and 3 forwards. So a sizeable shopping list for the recruitment team
Final word: it's sad the season is ending like this but we've had a great ⅔ of a season. Perhaps best not to build up too many high-hopes early on especially with a small squad.

Offord, coming back from injury, who would take a chance on him? You are correct required are 7-8 additions, early better than later. If this years playoffs go well, i.e. get to final, we could retain some, however if 1 and gone and not promoted, the strike force could be gone, next year home grown midfield, with 1 or 2 Snr pros. Keeper agree, Booth given rough call at start season, he should of played but loanee keeper's deal is to play until proven otherwise. 50% gate income for player pool, hits Crewe hard. Stockport/Wrexham have 2 x Crewe cap. Grade 2 academy, provides substantial Premier League funded income, but only helps Academy graduates, not the first team. I think the rules say we have to have 2-3 Academy players in the first team pool each week (need to check that).
Let's see what Wrexham brings, hopefully not a Chelsea vs Everton result!! Seems a pity only a breakfast bap for a big game Saturday!

Agreed. I had hoped that a "shock" promotion to League 1 would give us better chance to retain Nev, etc. Also, more value for our academy stars to increase income for club. At least Stockport are now champions and Hollywood is only playing for 2nd or 3rd place.
