Have you ever known the play offs spots go so close to the wire?

With only two/three games left for some clubs to play this season, it's all to play for as they say. Normally all sorted by this time of the season.

Championship - with Ipswich, Leicester, Leeds and Southampton all guaranteed a play off spot as a minimum, it leaves West Brom, Norwich, Hull, Coventry, Middlesborough and Preston to sort out who's claiming the last two spots.

League 1 - Portsmouth gained promotion tonight and with Derby, Bolton and Peterborough safe in a play off spot, it leaves Barnsley, Oxford, Lincoln and Blackpool to try to claim the last two spots, can't see Stevenage making a 12 goal difference up in two games.

League 2 - Stockport, Mansfield and Wrexham are all promoted and MK Dons having already secured a play off spot, it leaves a massive nine teams fighting for those last three spots. Those are, Crewe, Barrow, Crawley, Walsall, Doncaster, Gillingham, AFC Wimbledon, Harrogate and Bradford with the last two both in a minus goal difference.

Hard to call any of them but I bet the odds are interesting.

I think your memory is slipping Brin.

At this stage last year in The Championship, Burnley and Sheff Utd were all but up and 12 teams still had a chance (on paper) of making one of the 4 playoff spots. Hull who were only 2 places and 7pts above us even had an outside chance.

L1 was a bit more cut and dried with, similar to this year, just 5 teams chasing the last 2 playoff spots and in L2 8 teams were still in the mix for the 4 spots.
