There was very little wrong with the pitch last night. The pitch is a problem but the incessant rain over the past winter, combined with unlucky timing of downpours, has made it look much worse than it actually is.

I still think Nelmsy's culpable for the pitch being the way it is however.

I believed it was down to neglect by either/both Nelms and groundsmen, but after reading Peter Marr and subsequent reply from Steve Martin it looks like the blame lies else where

I believe that they are blaming the Dens burn for the waterlogged condition of the Dens Park pitch every time it rains.
There used to be flooding in the basements of buildings in the centre of Dundee every time a high tide coincided with heavy rain falling.
If this is the case with Dens Burn then there should be flooding between Dens Park and where the Dens burn joins the River Tay.
