Just watching the highlights from yesterday, the goal we conceded looked like another example of players being brainwashed to think we have to play/pass our way out of every situation instead of just clearing the danger.

We've actually recovered the ball through Nemane, but instead of just getting it away and up the field he tries a ridiculous backwards diagonal ball across his own box to O'Brien and gives the ball straight back to the winger.

That's not "taking responsibility on the ball", it's just amateurish, crass, brain-dead defending and it has cost us goal after goal this season. That sort of ridiculous overplaying must stop next season, no ifs, no buts.

Problem is it will be called being brave. If it doesn't work you chalk it down to bad luck then try it again, ad infinitum.

The refusal to try anything different late on yesterday was particularly obvious. OK we were missing Jatta for the more direct ball, but no shots from distance, virtually no trying to beat a man, just pass it, pass it pass it.

That’s not the policy. The policy is get as much value as they can out of the playing budget with the help of data. Do you think Crowley and Mcgoldrick are on the cheap?

No doubt they didnt come cheap.

I do wonder though what the data says about our style of play being the best way to get value from a given playing budget, as it seems like you need to be in a situation where you can totally dominate the opposition for it to work. Even then it's not sure to work (We were totally dominant yesterday without creating anything clear cut).

When Maynard came in he talked about "tweaks" that needed to happen but it might be that the tweaks need to involve our style of play changing as well otherwise we will just carry on conceding crap goal after crap goal.

Just watched the "hghlights" What on earth was Nemane doing passing the ball across the penalty area!!! Plus why wasn't McGoldrick booked for a blatant dive in the box? If this is what we have to look forward to next season then I can see the crowds disappearing. Oh and good to see the passion in our captain after the goal, not a f**king word to anyone not even Nemane!!!!
