Talk of challenging for promotion is foolish

I cringed when TS and Evo mentioned we would be challenging for promotion next season.

I understand the club needs to be positive and attempt to bring in revenue with season ticket sales but saying we are going to do this and that next season, demonstrates how little TS knows about football and how Evo has not grasped how serious the situation is.

Finishing 8th next season would be a miracle.

It will take 4 transfer windows before we can even think about promotion.

There was similar talk after Warnes first relegation.

    Look how that turned out.

We did however keep an awful lot of the squad together over the last 5 years prior to the useless Matt Taylor and that's largely the reason we kept bouncing back.

Evans has been hired with the expectations of a finish in the Top 6. If we are much below that I'd be worried. TS probably wants that promotion and has become accustomed to it.

I'm not fussed about promotion next year. If. We have 2/3 years at the top of league one and continue to improve roundwood and cultivate a "together" team then fair enough.

Unfortunately that’s not S/Es way,he doesn’t build teams to last.

No, it isn't. However, that's clearly not the mission either.

No teams "last" unless youre loaded. We should have learnt that by now.

I defy any manager of Rotherham United to do that because we have neither the finance nor the infrastructure to achieve it.
The best we can hope for is to continue being a yo-yo club.

You forget all the OOC and free transfers that will transform the squad.

With the current squad we would be lucky to avoid relegation from league 1

Only Viktor and Rathbone deserves a shirt, the rest are ordinary, poor or just plain crap

    Big clear out needed
