    Crowley to Mansfield/MK Dons rumours

Just seen a post on Facebook written by ‘Notts county mad’ suggesting Crowley could be on his way to Mansfield if Keillor Dunn leaves for Barnsley. That’d go down like a sh1t sandwich for sure, hopefully just baseless rumour.

Can't believe there would be any baseless rumours on Facebook

If the owners sanction that, they have zero understanding of this football club and its fan base. I would be gobsmacked if that happened.

At this point in the season, I'd be pretty angry if we sold Crowley to anyone, but selling him to Mansfield would be an almighty kick in the balls.

The owners might not have a say in it. Crowley may have a minimum fee release clause.

Anyway, if the money is right then we should sell and sell to anyone who wants to pay up.

Well hopefully just a baseless rumour, we don't want to be a selling club.

I get the owners have a strategy and want to stick to it, but any decent strategy cannot involve pissing off the entire fans base by selling one of our best players to a local rival.

The only way I would consider it anywhere near acceptable would be if it was a ridiculous offer. Like the post on Facebook suggests a fee of 500k, and while I do not believe the rumours in the slightest, if mansfield were stupid enough to pay half a million for a player out of contract in the summer then id take it, as long as we've got an adequate replacement lined up too.

Perhaps, if that money is then used to strengthen the squad. But we can't be serious about promotion and sell two of our three best players to rivals the same summer. We're either a selling club or a club with serious ambitions to climb the leagues (like Mansfield and MKD).

How can you strengthen the squad when you are selling your best players - they will not be replaced with better or more expensive players. If Crowley does go then I can only believe that he is not happy with the current management. If Luke Williams was still here I doubt if Macca Nemane would have left.
